Q)   Can my employer fire me for filing a Workers Compensation MN claim?

A) No, you can not be fired if you file a Workers Compensation claim.  There's a specific statute, Minnesota statute 176.a2 that says if your employer obstructs your filing of a claim or fires you because you filed a claim, you can sue your employer in district court.  You are protected.  Likewise if the employer has work available for you within your restrictions and they refuse to offer you employment when your ready to go back to work.
