A) Only employees are entitled to Workers Compensation benefits. An employee is somebody who works for a business entity or somebody else for pay. Certain types of employment situations are not covered. If your an independent contractor your not covered for Workers Compensation. If you are a corporate officer such as a vice president of a corporation you are not covered unless you have specifically elected Workers Compensation Disability coverage. If you are a family member working for your mom or dad or borther or uncle or something like that, your not covered again unless they specifically elect coverage for family members. If your a farm laborer, farm laborers are not covered, volunteers may or may not be covered.
