Q) Are psychological stress claims covered under Workers Compensation in MN?
A) Stress injuries can be covered for Workers Compensation. For instance if I have a back injury and I can't work and I develop depression because I'm unable to work, both the back injury and the depression would be covered. If I'm in a high stressful job such as a fireman or peace officer and I develop ulcers or a heart attack from the stress associated with the job that is covered. So physical injuries causing stress is covered , stress causing physical injury is covered but stress causing stress injuries are not covered. So if I have a lot of stress in my job and I have a nervous break down that is not covered.
